- 3 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 1 cup white rice
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 1 can chicken broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, sour cream, and onion soup mix. Stir until well mixed.
- Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish and spread the cooked rice evenly on the bottom.
- Layer the shredded chicken over the rice.
- Pour the creamy soup mixture evenly over the chicken and rice.
- If you choose to add cheese, sprinkle it over the top.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until heated through and the cheese is bubbly.
- Allow it to cool slightly before serving and garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding minced garlic or sautéed onions to the sauce mix. Rotisserie chicken can save time and add flavor.
