Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
- 2 tablespoons milk (for frosting)
Instructions
- Dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Combine the mashed bananas, melted butter, sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon in a large mixing bowl.
- Pour in the yeast mixture and mix well. Gradually add flour, kneading until a smooth dough forms.
- Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Roll the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle. Spread softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon mixture over the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut it into slices. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish.
- Allow the rolls to rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until they turn golden brown.
- Combine the cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk for the frosting until smooth.
- Spread the frosting generously on top of the warm rolls. Enjoy!
