Description
A quick and flavorful beef and broccoli stir fry that’s better than takeout, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice or cauliflower rice, for serving
Instructions
- Combine the beef, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and cornstarch (if using) in a bowl and let rest for 15 minutes.
- Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat, add the sesame oil, and swirl to coat the pan.
- Add the marinated beef in a single layer and stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until browned. Transfer the beef to a plate.
- In the same skillet, add the broccoli and about 2 tablespoons of water. Cover briefly or stir for 2–3 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Return the beef to the pan, toss to combine, and cook for 1 more minute to heat through and let the sauce thicken. Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve immediately over hot rice or cauliflower rice.
Notes
For a gluten-free option, use tamari instead of soy sauce. You can adjust sweetness with brown sugar or honey.
