Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.
- Mix the sliced bananas, 1 cup of sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Prepare the batter by whisking together the self-rising flour, milk, ½ cup of sugar, and optional nutmeg in a separate bowl.
- Assemble by pouring the batter into the prepared baking dish and spooning the banana mixture over the top without mixing.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until the top is golden brown and the center springs back when touched.
- Rest for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
