- 1 lb ground beef
- 12 oz elbow macaroni
- 1 small yellow onion diced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 can diced tomatoes drained
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 oz cream cheese softened
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish optional
Instructions
- 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and grease baking dish
- 2. Cook macaroni until just al dente then drain
- 3. Brown ground beef in skillet and drain excess grease
- 4. Add onion and cook until softened then stir in garlic
- 5. Stir in tomato sauce diced tomatoes broth seasoning and Worcestershire then simmer
- 6. Mix in cream cheese until smooth
- 7. Combine pasta with beef mixture and transfer to baking dish
- 8. Top with cheddar and mozzarella cheese
- 9. Bake uncovered until cheese is melted and bubbly
- 10. Rest five minutes before serving and garnish if desired
Notes
- Undercook pasta slightly so it finishes in oven
- Drain beef well to prevent greasy casserole
- Use freshly shredded cheese for best melt
- Add splash of broth if mixture seems dry
- Store leftovers up to four days refrigerated
- Freeze tightly wrapped for up to two months
- Reheat covered to retain moisture
