Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds chicken thighs
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- 1 garlic clove, minced (for the sauce)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Pita bread (for serving)
- Fresh vegetables (for garnish, e.g., lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the olive oil, cumin, paprika, turmeric, coriander, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken and ensure every piece is well-coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side until cooked through and charred.
- In a separate bowl, mix yogurt, tahini, lemon juice, and the other minced garlic to make the garlic sauce.
- Once the chicken is done, slice it thinly.
- Serve the sliced chicken in pita bread, drizzled with garlic sauce, and topped with fresh veggies.
Notes
For the best flavor, marinate the chicken overnight. You can substitute chicken with lamb or chickpeas for a vegetarian option.
