  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
  • Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Sear the chicken in a large skillet with olive oil over medium-high heat for about 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. Cook the minced garlic in the same skillet until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Add the chicken broth, scraping any brown bits. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Make the sauce by reducing heat to medium, stirring in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, lemon zest, and Italian seasoning. Stir until smooth.
  6. Combine the chicken with the sauce, allowing to simmer for an additional 5 minutes to absorb flavors.
  7. Garnish with parsley and lemon slices, if desired.

Notes

For a lighter option, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream. This dish can also be made with vegetable broth for a vegetarian-friendly version.
