  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • Cream cheese frosting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Blend the mashed bananas with melted butter until smooth.
  3. Stir in the baking soda and a pinch of salt.
  4. Mix in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Add the flour and mix gently until the batter is just combined—avoid over-mixing!
  6. Combine the cinnamon and brown sugar for the swirl in a small bowl.
  7. Pour half of the banana batter into the prepared baking pan, then sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture on top.
  8. Add the remaining batter on top and sprinkle with the rest of the cinnamon sugar mix.
  9. Swirl with a knife to create a marble effect throughout the batter.
  10. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  11. Let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Drizzle with cream cheese frosting if desired before slicing.

Notes

Use ripe bananas for the best flavor. You can reduce sugar by replacing it with applesauce or honey.
