Description
A quick and elegant shrimp dish in rich garlic cream sauce, ready in under 20 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Chopped parsley for garnish
- Cooked pasta or rice, for serving
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and melt the butter until foams.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant; do not let it brown.
- Add the shrimp in a single layer. Cook 2–3 minutes per side, until pink and just opaque. Remove shrimp to a plate.
- Lower the heat to medium-low. Pour the heavy cream into the skillet and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Stir in the grated Parmesan until the sauce is smooth and slightly thickened, about 1–2 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, splash in a tablespoon of pasta water or chicken stock.
- Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss briefly to coat and warm through — about 30 seconds.
- Serve over cooked pasta or rice and garnish with chopped parsley.
Notes
Pat shrimp dry before cooking for better browning. Do not overcook shrimp as they will continue to cook slightly off heat.
