Description
A summery dish combining savory grilled flank steak with fresh Caprese salad flavors, drizzled with a rich balsamic reduction.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1½ pounds flank steak
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
- 8 ounces fresh mozzarella balls
- ½ cup fresh basil, chopped
- 3 tablespoons balsamic glaze
Instructions
- Mix olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper in a zip-top bag or shallow dish. Add the flank steak, ensuring it is coated, then refrigerate and marinate for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and grill for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
- Allow the steak to rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
- Combine halved cherry tomatoes, fresh mozzarella balls, and chopped basil in a mixing bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt.
- Serve the sliced steak on a platter alongside the Caprese salad, drizzling with balsamic glaze before serving.
Notes
Letting the steak rest enhances juiciness. Marinating overnight deepens the flavor.
