- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 tablespoons low-sodium chicken stock
- 1–2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional; Sriracha recommended for a kick)
- 1 teaspoon red chili pepper flakes (for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken cubes, cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Toss until the chicken is evenly coated.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Once hot, add the chicken in a single layer. Let it cook for about 6–8 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown and fully cooked.
- Reduce the heat and add minced garlic, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in honey, chicken stock, lemon juice, and hot sauce if desired. Stir well to coat the chicken.
- Allow the mixture to simmer for 2–3 minutes or until the sauce thickens and clings to the chicken.
- Finally, remove from heat, garnish with parsley and chili flakes, and serve hot over rice or noodles.
Notes
For extra tenderness, marinate chicken in honey and lemon juice for 30 minutes before cooking. Cook in batches if necessary for crispy bites.
