Description

Delicious Greek chicken burgers topped with creamy tzatziki and fresh vegetables, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Ground Chicken (93% lean)
  • 1/2 cup Feta Cheese (or omit for dairy-free)
  • 1 medium Onion (finely chopped)
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley (or dill)
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper (freshly ground)
  • 1/4 tsp Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Zest
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs (or almond flour for gluten-free)
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 cup Tzatziki Sauce
  • 2 cups Fresh Vegetables (lettuce, sliced tomatoes, cucumbers)
  • 4 pieces Buns or Pita (whole grain or gluten-free)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, feta cheese, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper. If you like a little heat, add the red pepper flakes.
  2. Add lemon zest, lemon juice, breadcrumbs, and the egg. Mix until just combined; do not overwork the mixture.
  3. Form the mixture into patties, approximately ½ inch thick.
  4. Preheat your grill or a large skillet over medium heat. Lightly oil to prevent sticking.
  5. Cook the burgers for about 5-6 minutes on each side, until internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  6. Toast the buns or pita lightly on the grill or in the toaster.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bun and topping it with tzatziki sauce and fresh veggies.

Notes

For the best texture, do not overmix the chicken mixture. Let the burgers rest after cooking for juicy results.
