Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

  4. 4. Sear chicken 5 to 6 minutes per side until golden and internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  5. 5. Transfer chicken to baking sheet.
  6. 6. Mix Parmesan, panko, melted butter, garlic, and Italian seasoning.
  7. 7. Top each chicken breast with provolone slice.
  8. 8. Press Parmesan-panko mixture firmly over cheese.
  9. 9. Broil 2 to 4 minutes until crust is golden and bubbly.
  10. 10. Melt butter in saucepan and whisk in flour.
  11. 11. Slowly whisk in heavy cream and simmer until thickened.
  12. 12. Stir in Parmesan, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  13. 13. Drizzle sauce over chicken and garnish with parsley.

Notes

  • Pound chicken evenly for consistent cooking.
  • Freshly grated Parmesan melts better than pre-shredded.
  • Watch closely under broiler to prevent burning.
  • Let chicken rest 5 minutes before topping.
  • Toast panko lightly for extra crunch.
  • Store leftovers up to 4 days refrigerated.
  • Reheat in oven at 350°F for best texture.
  • Sauce can be made 2 days ahead and reheated gently.
