Description

Malibu Chicken is a delectable dish featuring buttery, crispy chicken breasts wrapped with savory ham and creamy Swiss cheese, finished with a zesty honey mustard sauce. Perfect for weeknight dinners or family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 slices thin ham
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup honey mustard sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) or heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Season chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper.
  3. Dredge each chicken breast in egg, ensuring it’s well-coated, then coat thoroughly with bread crumbs.
  4. Cook the coated chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Layer a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese on each chicken breast.
  6. If baking, transfer to the oven and cook for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese melts. If frying, cover the skillet until the cheese melts.
  7. Drizzle with honey mustard sauce before serving.

Notes

For a lighter option, substitute chicken with turkey cutlets. Gluten-free bread crumbs can also be used for dietary needs.
