Description

A delightful one-pan dish featuring tender chicken in a sweet and tangy honey BBQ sauce, served over fluffy rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup rice (white or brown)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup honey BBQ sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add the chicken to the pan and sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned.
  4. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
  5. In the same pan, add the rice and chicken broth, stirring to combine.
  6. Return the seared chicken to the pan and drizzle with honey BBQ sauce.
  7. Cover the pan and simmer on low heat for about 20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

For variety, substitute rice with quinoa or try different sauces. Searing the chicken enhances flavor.
