- 500g ground beef or lamb
- 2 medium potatoes, chopped
- 1 chopped onion
- 2 chopped tomatoes
- 3–4 green chilies, chopped
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- Salt (to taste)
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1/4 cup oil
- Chopped coriander for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pot over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onions until they turn golden brown.
- Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and cook for about 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and let them cook until the oil separates from the mixture.
- Bring the ground meat into the mix, stirring well until browned.
- Toss in all the dry spices and cook for 5–7 minutes to develop those flavors.
- Add the chopped potatoes along with enough water to cover them. Bring to a boil.
- Lower the heat, cover, and let it simmer for about 25 minutes until the potatoes are tender.
- Right before serving, sprinkle with garam masala and fresh chopped coriander.
Notes
Serve with rice or naan, and consider adding a side salad or a spoonful of yogurt for a refreshing contrast.
