Instructions
- Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until it’s al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Sauté the garlic: In a large skillet, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the tomatoes: Toss in the diced tomatoes and cook for 5-7 minutes until they soften and start to break down.
- Incorporate the cream: Reduce the heat to low, and stir in the heavy cream. Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.
- Simmer the sauce: Let the mixture simmer for a few minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Combine: Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss until well coated.
- Serve: Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil and generous shavings of grated Parmesan cheese.
