Description
A delightful twist on a classic Italian dish with creamy fettuccine bathed in a rich garlic-infused sauce and tender cabbage.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz fettuccine
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups cabbage, chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Cook the fettuccine: Begin by boiling a large pot of salted water. Cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain well and set aside.
- Sauté the garlic: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, but be careful not to let it burn.
- Add the cabbage: Toss in the chopped cabbage and cook until it softens and begins to caramelize, approximately 4-5 minutes.
- Incorporate the heavy cream: Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer.
- Add the cheese: Gradually stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until it melts and combines with the cream.
- Season the sauce: Taste and season with salt and black pepper to your liking.
- Combine and serve: Add cooked fettuccine to the skillet and toss until the pasta is coated in the creamy sauce. Serve warm, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
Feel free to substitute heavy cream with light cream or coconut milk for dietary preferences.
