Description
Delightful Asian dumplings that burst with flavor, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 200g ground pork
- 100g cabbage, finely chopped
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 pack gyoza wrappers
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Combine the ground pork, chopped cabbage, green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil in a large mixing bowl. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated.
- Take a gyoza wrapper and place about a teaspoon of the filling into the center.
- Lightly moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little water. Fold it in half to form a crescent shape, making sure to pinch the edges tightly to seal the dumpling.
- Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, arrange the Gyoza in a single layer in the pan.
- Fry for about 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
- Carefully add a splash of water to the pan and cover it with a lid. Steam the Gyoza for about 5 minutes.
- After steaming, remove the lid and cook for an additional 2 minutes to crisp up the bottoms further.
- Transfer to a plate and serve hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
For a healthier option, ground chicken or mushrooms can be great substitutes. For a gluten-free variation, opt for tamari instead of soy sauce.
